We are ready, Brynn! Thanks for chatting!!
Hi Brynn! Thanks for being here today!
Is it harder to write or produce a song?
Both writing and production are difficult in their own ways. For me, production has always been harder because I don’t have the patience for it. Writing is frustrating for me because it takes a while for my ideas the stew before I can work on them again. It’s a longer, more emotional process.
Do you ever experience writer's block? What do you do to get over it?
YES! All the time. I usually try to take a hike, write in my journal, watch a new movie, or get more sleep. If nothing else, I’ll get inspired to do other things!
What is your musical background? Who or what got you into wanting to make music?
I’ve been performing since I was a little kid, but I finally got serious about it when I got into middle school. I was in a couple of bands as well as choir in high school. I went to college for classical music performance, but I always enjoyed singing pop music WAY more than singing opera. After I graduated, I realized I wanted to pursue a career as an artist and songwriter. I was honestly very inspired by my friends at Belmont who are also working to get their music out. They made me realize I can do this!
What is your favorite thing about performing live shows?
The audience. Hands down. The energy of a crowd is unmatched by any other feeling on this earth. When the people in the crowd are singing along to my music, I feel unstoppable.
Do you have a favorite song to perform or that you are looking to performing?
I cannot wait to perform my new music at shows. One of my new songs is coming out in March, and I think people are really going to like it. It has a good groove, and I can’t wait to groove along with the crowds.
What kind of music are you listening to right now?
I have been listening to a lot of Miley Cyrus’s newest album lately. I’ve also been listening to a lot of Bohnes. He’s one of my favorites.
Do you listen to any podcasts that are related to music? If so, which ones?
I’ve been trying to up my music industry knowledge lately by listening to the Music Business Hacks podcast.
Do you like to collaborate with others? What is that process like?
I should do more collaboration than I currently do. The pandemic makes it a little more difficult. I love to bounce ideas off my roommates though. We sit around the dinner table and brainstorm ideas for Instagram posts, covers, and photoshoots.
What is next for you?
This year is going to be big for me. I’ll be pushing out a lot of content and new music, and I am SO excited for everyone to finally hear what I’ve been working on the last two years or so.
Please tell our readers where they can follow you!
Thanks for your time!
