What is heavily played on your music playlists right now?

I'm really digging Hozier and Michal Kiwanuka, they are both so soulful. Also, powerful female artists like Florence and the Machine, and underground indie singer/songwriters like Iris Lune. She is really something.

What milestone are you working towards in your career right now?

I'm getting ready to write a new album based on childhood experiences that shaped me as a human being and as an artist. It's a big step because it involves shining a light into my past, which is not easy for me since I'm usually a forward-facing kind of person. There are a lot of painful memories there, but I feel by bringing them out of the darkness and facing them there's some deep healing to be discovered. In essence, that's the foundation of what inspired me to become an artist. Healing through music. So, to answer your question more directly, the milestone would be writing and releasing this record, which will likely take some time but could also be a huge personal breakthrough for me. At least that's my intention and personal vision.

What is inspiring you right now?

My husband. He's the light of my life and is constantly growing as a person. Watching him push his boundaries and step into his dreams is very inspiring to me, and we help each other grow in this way. Love is the best medicine in the world, and after what we've all gone through as a global community this last year, all I can say is that I am so grateful to be with someone as wise and kind as he is.

What makes you feel most alive? Traveling to new places, being in the moment and experiencing unbelievable synchronicities. It feels like God or the Universe is at the wheel guiding the journey, and that is the most life-affirming thing I've ever experienced. Traveling to somewhere I've never been at least once a year makes life an ongoing adventure and really requires you to stay present and aware, so anything can happen. Life can surprise you, and when you stay positive and open, it surely will.

If you could pass on one message to your fans, what message would that be?

It may sound cliche, but you only have one chance to live this life to the fullest. If you have a dream, aim for the stars and don't let anyone tell you otherwise. Even if you think you don't have what it takes, if it's your destiny and you truly believe in it, miracles will happen and mountains will move so you can fulfill your vision. If you get knocked down, get back up, dust yourself off, and get back at it until you make yourself proud.
