Hi Liv! Great to speak with you today!

Great to speak to YOU!

What have you been working on lately?

Lately I have been working on finalizing masters of my songs and working on the visuals for upcoming releases.

Who inspired you to get into music?

I grew up around the same time Taylor Swift's career was taking off so writing your feelings into songs has always been a very normal thing to me. My mom always told me to never write down anything you wouldn't want the world to read so songwriting looked like a cheap escape for me - I could talk about my feelings and anyone could hear it, but no one but me would know the full story.

When was the first time you recall thinking that you wanted to pursue music as your career?

I was at a summer theatre sleepaway camp one year and I specifically remember that during one of our show's performances I hit my final pose in our number before intermission and it all hit me. In that moment I realized that musical theatre isn't what I wanted to pursue, it was film acting and performing my own songs.

What is your favorite song you've ever released and why?

My favorite song I've ever written is unreleased but my favorite released song would probably be "i'm sorry." I was at a college summer intensive and met this guy one night, made a song, and posted it on soundcloud like a month later. It's a really simple song but the chorus really gets stuck in your head, which I love.

Who are some of the artists currently inspiring you?

There are a lot of things about different artists that inspire me. Back in 2019, I went to Ariana Grande's Sweetner/Thank U Next World Tour and cried basically the whole time. Olivia Rodrigo has recently been working a lot with Petra Collins and I find their work on the "good 4 u" and "brutal" music videos sick. Doja Cat, Nicki Minaj, Kehlani...so many incredible women in this industry right now and I'm so glad to be alive to see/hear it all. Any plans to start performing live as shows pick back up?

I know I will be performing again sometime in the future but I don't have anything set in stone right now. Honestly, I'm a little nervous to perform live again. I've been performing other artists' songs live for over a decade now but there's something so nerve-wracking about performing your own. What is your favourite song to perform? I am so weird about this because one second I'll say "La La La" by Sam Smith; where I'm basically running around the stage, dancing, hyping up the crowd for 3 minutes straight; and the next I'll say "god is a woman (acoustic)" by Ariana Grande, where I'm sitting on a stool, singing my lil heart out. What are you hoping to see in the music world as it continues to evolve? Representation of course! As mentioned above, Taylor Swift had a big impact on me as a little girl and made the idea of me pursuing this career completely valid and attainable. I believe a lot of that had to do with the fact that she looked exactly like me. She did it, so I can too. Please let everyone know how they can keep up with you and your music!

I'm Liv Byrne on all streaming platforms and @iamlivbyrne on all social media platforms! Believe me, a LOT is coming:) Thank you for your time!
