Hi Nightbreakers! It is great to chat with you today!
You have a release coming up in April! Will you tell us a bit about that?
Yes, absolutely! The track is called “Quarter to Midnight” and we are so excited for it to finally be out! Writing this one felt exactly like it did back when we had first started out writing music. Over the past year, we have released a number of singles that have been so, so dear to our hearts and personal, but Quarter to Midnight was probably the most organic and natural. The song is about falling in love after being single for a very long time; you never know when it’s going to happen. As a result of that, you kind of question “Is this real?” We really just love how cinematic this song feels, if you close your eyes, you’re really there, it’s like a movie. This song is probably the band favorite at the moment and we are so excited that everyone can finally hear this song!
Who are some of your biggest musical influences?
Between the 5 of us, there is a range of different musical influences that tend to appear in our music. The main genres that our music is influenced by are pop, rock, trap and R&B. All of us grew listening to rock and pop punk bands like Fall Out Boy but over the last few years we have taken a lot of inspiration from artists like Jon Bellion, Halsey, and 5 Seconds of Summer.
How do you make sure your sound stays authentic to you?
One of the main ways that we try to stay authentic is by incorporating real instruments into our music. The majority of pop music these days is made with electronic instruments, but we like to make sure that we incorporate organic instruments as well since we are a full band!
What is your favorite thing about being artists?
I would probably say our favorite thing is having the opportunity to meet so many other artists with the same interests as us. We are constantly meeting tons of new people at shows who are either very interested in the arts or do it themselves which is really cool. It makes us feel like we aren’t alone being able to meet so many awesome people!
What is a piece of advice you carry with you that you like to pass along to people?
The most important advice that we could give is to be prepared for something to always go wrong and for that to be okay. In the music industry there are tons of moving parts that rely on other people. Because of that, sometimes things will go wrong but as long as you stay positive, everything will always work out for the better in the end!
