Surfing sounds so fun!

Hi Carli! Thank you for talking with me today! Ok first, let's talk about your recent EP release, 'Unconditionally Myself'! What was the inspiration for the project? I was inspired to write 'Unconditionally Myself' after experiencing a heartbreak. I had been writing songs, and was thinking about getting a new project together during that time. Then, a relationship that meant a lot to me fell apart. I decided to channel the emotions I was feeling into my music because I've always found that to be one of the best ways to process and express myself. I was thinking a lot about where things went wrong in that situation and who I am as a person. One day, I was driving through Laurel Canyon and I thought, "I am not afraid to be who I am. I'm unconditionally myself." In that moment it all clicked, and I decided that's what the EP should be named. Once the name was decided, choosing which songs to use for the project was pretty easy because I had a theme to go off of. I wanted people to know that it's okay to be a loving person who wears their heart on their sleeve. There's nothing wrong with you, and the world needs more of it! That's how it all ended up coming to fruition. On that note, who are some of your biggest musical influences? I have so many musical influences but some of my all time favorites are Stevie Nicks (solo and in Fleetwood Mac), Led Zeppelin, The Weeknd, Justin Bieber, Lana Del Rey, and Fleet Foxes. Are there any hobbies, shows, movies, etc that you have been enjoying lately? This past year I picked up surfing which has quickly become one of my favorite hobbies! It's such a magical sport. I try to make it out there every week! Other than that I really enjoy reading and playing guitar. As far as tv shows go, I love Schitt's Creek. I always have a good laugh watching it. I've also been watching a bunch of vlogs on Youtube. Who knows, maybe I'll start my own vlog channel!
