Statik G Artist Corner:

Statik G is an American musician as well as an entrepreneur who has over the years redefined himself as one of the most ingenious and strong-willed people of the music industry.

Give us the set up of how your latest music came to be?

After my last album Gene Therapy did so well I wasn’t sure what direction I wanted to go. A producer reached out named Efreezee and asked if I’d be interested in building music collections with him that contained more impactful music that wasn’t about drugs or violence or negativity. It felt like perfect timing so we teamed up to create some hitters! What is setting your music apart from what is being heard in the music industry today? It’s got variety, unique sound and styles that differ yet compliment each other. I think my music has a lot of listening power and replay ability, more of a daily jam than a passing fad. How are you multiplying the ways your music is being heard? I've been really pushing for playlisting recently and I think I wanna get back on the road. I’ve had some good meetings with good people that I feel is going to magnify our reach even more! Why is it so important for you to continue to make new music that matters? It’s what I do to process life, so for me I think I’d feel empty or hopeless if I wasn’t creating music to share. And the fact it helps other people the same way it helps me is all the more reason to keep sharing my experiences. What does your latest music say about you? I’ve grown a lot. As a man, a father, and an artist. I’ve developed more every album but I feel like this is the biggest gap in my growth by far, in my opinion. What is the message you are trying to convey for your fans? Never give up. Nothing worth it comes easy and nothing easy is worth it. Aim to be your best self. Always show love to others. Keeping up with you is always fun, where can our audience listen to you NEXT? I’m building my Spotify and Pandora Fanbase so if y’all could go add me to your playlists and stream your favorite songs daily, I’d be grateful! Leave us with a meaningful story that connects to your latest music that is the ultimate takeaway for your fans? The last song on Empathy EP (4/18/23) is called The Moon. It was inspired by a day when my baby looked at the moon and tried to grab it. She asked, “Da da?” I said, “yes baby?” And she goes, “Can you get me the moon?” I melted instantly ..and that was the inspiration for the song! My favorite part about the song is that we recreated that moment in the studio and she did it so perfectly that we only need 1 take. That’s a 3 year old doing a one take on the mic. Proud dad moment!
