Hi Kendra! It's great to speak with you today!

You recently released your song 'Self Love Proclamation'! Can you tell us a bit about it?

I'm so glad you asked. 'Self Love Proclamation' is a song about accepting ourselves for who we are. It's about balancing the wins with the supposed 'losses' and finding ourselves somewhere between. It's also a story of the underdog, foraging ahead on their life's journey. Who are some of your biggest music influences? Overall, as as Kendra & the Bunnies, my biggest musical influences are: Jefferson Airplane, classic blues, Radiohead, Animal Collective, Janis Joplin, Led Zeppelin, A Tribe Called Quest, Fiona Apple, Celtic folk, and psychedelic hippie rock... like the Grateful Dead and Phish. You seem to do a little bit of everything between the music, your book, your podcast...what inspired you to pursue so many avenues of creativity? I totally smiled to myself when you asked this question. I love being myself in every aspect of my life. It's like I'm at the tip top of a spiral tie dye, where I get to be the pattern and all the dye that soaks across the shirt. I like expressing myself in as many avenues as possible... whether it is through music, through movement like dance, or physical art like painting. Are there any surreal moments that have happened in your career thus far? Wow! Lots of surreal moments! The most recent awesome moment is having the opportunity to record my newest full length album at Hyde Street Studios in San Francisco, CA. This is the historic recording spot formerly known as Wally Heider Studios. So many greats have recorded there including: the Grateful Dead, Crosby/Stills/Nash/Young, Cake, Kanye West, Tupac, CCR, Jefferson Airplane, Train, GreenDay, and now, Kendra & the Bunnies. What is your favorite part of being an artist? I love getting a proper excuse to be so in touch with my thoughts and feelings. Do you have any new work coming up that we should be on the lookout for? Yes! My new album (recorded in SF) is going to be out in May 2021. It is 15 tracks of folk rock pop Americana alongside some of the top Bay Area musicians including: Trent Berry, Troy Berry, Giuseppe Pinto, Bob Menacho, Blake Ritterman, Lara Hermann, and me, Kendra Muecke! Followed by a new 4 track EP recorded with Justine Blazer in Nashville at Ten7Teen Studios to be released in July 2021! Please let out readers know where they can find you and your music!
